ODTU-GUNAM

Introducing APOLLO consortium member - ODG - ODTÜ-GÜNAM.

ODTÜ-GÜNAM was founded under the administration of the Middle East Technical University (METU) in Ankara, Turkey, as an interdisciplinary research center to conduct research on solar electricity.

In 2021, ODTÜ-GÜNAM Research Center gained the status of “Thematic Research Infrastructure” as a national center and received additional funding to operate in all scientific and technological research and development topics related to solar-to-energy conversion.

ODTÜ-GÜNAM aims to develop products, production processes, and methods in solar energy conversion technologies in accordance with worldwide carbon neutrality targets. The research center currently employs over 30 full-time faculty members and researchers, in addition to over 100 graduate students.

In the APOLLO project, ODG, with support from all partners, will be mainly responsible for generating guidelines on how future PV production should evolve for more effective recycling and for building demonstrator devices as proof of concept to demonstrate the effectiveness of recycling.

ODG will also be involved in several aspects of the project, including perovskite recycling, re-use of materials, and supplying PERC-like bottom cells for tandem recycling efforts.
