Introducing RETRIEVE

The EU-funded project RETRIEVE, aimed at enhancing circularity within the photovoltaic (PV) sector, has recently joined a technological cluster with APOLLO.

RETRIEVE's mission focuses on advancing state-of-the-art recycling processes to upcycle over 95% of materials from End-of-Life (EoL) solar panels, addressing Europe's dependency on non-European PV suppliers. By converting outdated panels into valuable resources, RETRIEVE supports the growth of the European PV recycling industry, strengthening the EU's energy independence and sustainability efforts.

APOLLO, with its proactive approach to PV module recovery and recycling, aligns perfectly with RETRIEVE's goals. APOLLO's innovations, including pre-recycling analysis, a pilot processing line, and the development of a PV-centred Digital Product Passport, contribute to the creation of a circular economy for PV materials.

Having joined forces in the clustering activities, our projects emphasize the critical role that such innovative projects play in reducing environmental impact and promoting sustainable practices within the PV sector.
