3rd General Assembly Meeting in Portugal
The APOLLO consortium, a team of 18 partners from 8 countries, recently held its 3rd General Assembly meeting in Coimbra, Portugal. Hosted by the Instituto Pedro Nunes (IPN) on December 10-11, the meeting was a valuable opportunity for consortium members to align strategies and make significant progress towards their shared goal of establishing a circular approach to PV materials recycling and reuse.
The APOLLO project, funded by the European Union Horizon Europe program, is committed to developing innovative solutions for the sustainable management of end-of-life photovoltaic panels. By fostering collaboration between leading research institutions, industrial partners, and recycling specialists, the project aims to create a more sustainable future for the photovoltaic sector.
The meeting in Coimbra focused on several key areas, including:
Progress updates from each consortium member on their respective work packages
Technical discussions on the development of novel technologies
Strategies for maximizing the recovery of valuable materials from PV panels
Plans for dissemination and exploitation of project results
The APOLLO consortium is confident that its ongoing efforts will lead to significant advancements in PV panel recycling. By developing a scalable and efficient recycling process, the project has the potential to reduce waste, conserve resources, and create a more circular economy for the solar energy sector. And this is only possible thanks to all the hard work our amazing team of researchers and companies are putting into the APOLLO project.
A special thank you to all the partners who participated in person and online in the 3rd General Assembly Meeting.
